Ellie's Birthday

Hi my lovelies, if you read my post yesterday you'll have seen how I was going to go off and colour one of my Saturated Canary's after receiving them yesterday. I knew that the challenge at Saturated Canary was due to start yesterday too, so when I saw that the theme was 'Dotty' I found this paper and then inked up this stamp.

I normally stamp in brown, but I knew that wouldn't go with the eyes on Krista's images, so I've used a dark grey as I think black is a bit harsh with my lighter colouring. I've coloured Ellie's Birthday with my distress inks.

Most of my flowers are from WOC, but the pink Chrysanths are from The Ribbon Girl and are actually White Kort and Godt Chrysanths that I've painted with Picked Raspberry distress ink so that they perfectly match her balloon. I've used 32mm White Pure Silk Ribbon to make the scrummy bow. There's 10mm White Tiny Pom Pom Trim and a couple of 5mm Ivory Self Adhesive Pearls.

The papers are from Maja Design, I do have papers from other manufacturers but my hand keeps going for these lately, lol. The edges have been distressed and machine sewn using Top Stitching Thread.

The linky currently is AWOL at Saturated Canary Challenges, but when it's up I'll be entering this there.

I hope you all have a great weekend, I'm working for 12 long hours tomorrow-I'd rather work nights, but I'm taking my markers in with me ;)

Snow Cute

Hi my lovelies, another Christmas card from me today, it's only August and I've already made a few, but with the weather like it is at the minute it certainly doesn't feel like the Summer. Hubby had a lovely birthday the other day, the kids and me made a lovely squashy chocolate cake and a Key Lime Pie, both at hubby's request and they were scrummy. I wonder why I'm rotund, lol.

I've made this card for Lili's Little Fairies 'Anything But A Square Challenge' and I'm also entering it into the 'Anything Goes' challenge at Natalie and Amy. I was bloghopping and commenting this morning and I saw a card made like this, and when I saw this challenge this style of card immediately popped into my head. But, I'm sorry I cannot remember who's blog I saw it on, so I can't give them the accolade that they deserve.

I've made this using a spellbinders die, it's roughly 6 inches x 4 inches. The paper is from Maja Design, yet again and the flowers are from WOC.

I've coloured Snow Cute in with Distress Markers and reinkers and then used loads of Glamour Dust and Silver Stickles. I've used 16 mm white ruffle edge ribbon, but there wasn't space for a proper bow. The sentiment is one of the new Christmas Sentiment Tags, I love these.

That's it from me for now, I've just had some new stamps off the postman and I promised myself that I had to blog this card and a DT card for the weekend before I was allowed to colour them, they're the new Saturated Canary stamps..............

Remember to check out my Candy here.

What's Cooking At Midweek Magnolias

Hi bloggers, Wednesday again, so it's time for our challenge at Midweek Magnolias, this week our theme is 'What's Cooking'. I want to say hello to all of my followers, both new and old and thank everyone for the lovely comments that has been left.

I've used Maja Designs Summer Kitchen, I think the gingham check goes lovely with Kitchen Tilda, who incidentally is one of my favourites ;) I've used Distress Markers to colour her in. The edges have all been distressed with Walnut Stain, and I've used a Doohickey Die for the border.

I've used White Jute Ribbon and White Jute Twine, there's also a couple of Idea-ology Memo Pins behind the Kort & Godt flowers. The corrugated cardboard is from one of the numerous parcels the postie brings me. The sentiments are from LOTV, which I've stamped on some spare Kraft card and ripped into shape, I like the effect, it's the first time I've done it, and I will be doing it again.

As always I've added some subtle sparkle with Glamour Dust.

Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday, pop over to Midweek Magnolias, we're looking forward to see what you create. I'm entering this card into the Favourite Stamp challenge at Magnolia Mania, I have so many favourites, but this is definitely one that I'll never be able to part with.

Vintage Summer Christmas

Hi, here's my card for the Christmas without Christmas papers at Live and Love Crafts. When I first saw this theme I was a little daunted, but once I got going I couldn't stop (in fact I scheduled this post on 19th August, how is that for organised). I'm entering it into the stitching challenge at MDUC.

I set myself the challenge of using The Vintage Summer Basics from Maja Design, and I didn't want to use a Christmas Sentiment, I felt that was cheating, lol. The papers are 1922, 1933, 1916 and the snowflakes have been cut from 1945. I love this collection, I colour with distress inks and the colours match perfectly. The edges have been distressed using a Tim Holtz Distresser Tool and then machine sewn.

The Poinsettia's have been cut out of Tim Holtz coordinations, as the colours are the same as the distress inks, I've then sanded them a bit using a Tim Holtz Sanding Grip. I've used a Mini Round Brad to fasten each of the Poinsettia's in place.

I've used some of the scrumptious Ash Rose Shabby Seam Binding and tied a double bow. There's a Vintage Tag with Chantilly Lace tucked away there too.

I've also added sparkle with glamour dust and Liquid Pearls. Tilda with a Cute Lamb has been coloured with Distress Inks, and I've coloured the lamb in to look like a dog, well sort of. I'm entering it into the stitching challenge at MDUC.

And, click here to go to the shop as there's 15% off this Bank Holiday weekend, just enter the code 'Bank' at checkout, this is available until midnight on Monday 27th August.

Bookmarks at Totally Tilda

Hi my lovelies, today is the start of another challenge at Totally Tilda, and this fortnight we want to see your bookmarks with Tilda on. I have to confess I do struggle with non card challenges, and this was no exception. I did have a few things in mind, but I decided on this one as I've never coloured a mini Tilda in before.

I actually really enjoyed colouring them in, even though each mini took me as long to colour in as a normal sized one. I've used nesties to cut the rectangles out, and used Tim Holtz coordination's as the colours match my distress inks that I've used to colour the Tilda's in. I've used an inverted corner punch on the bottom, I've stuck 13 mm White Fine Vintage Style Cluny Lace between two pieces of the card. The fancy die cut is from a doohickey tag set, I've used Ash Rose Shabby Seam Binding for a tassel and I've subtly added Chrystal Glamour Dust.

We're sponsored for this challenge by Wild Orchid Crafts. Pop over to Totally Tilda, there are some seriously talented ladies there, the creations are amazing.

As soon as Grace saw this she asked me if she could have it, and smiled ever so sweetly. My kids know exactly how to work me, so this is now safely tucked inside a Little Miss book on her bedside table. I wouldn't care, I was quietly pleased with how this had turned out and even though I have a kindle I do occasionally still like to read a proper book and I was wanting this for myself, oh well if I ever get the time I will be creating another one

Scooter Tilda at Tilda's Town

Hi everyone, not long for the weekend now, well not in the UK anyway, but I've got the short straw and I'm on nights again tonight, but it keeps me in crafty bits so every cloud and all of that ;).

This week we have an anything goes challenge at Tilda's Town Challenges.

I've coloured Scooter Tilda, from the Turning Leaves collection, with my distress markers. I found a last sheet of this paper, which is from Maja Design from a few collections ago, I was brave and cut into it. It was a hard decision I can tell you, but the colours went great, so after a little talk with myself reminding me that I bought the paper to make cards with, it was cut. The edges have been distressed, and machine sewn with Top Stitching Thread.

I've used 32 mm White Pure Silk Ribbon to make my big bow, I think I'm in a big bow phase again, lol. The card has also been trimmed with White Teeny Tiny Pom Pom Trim and I've also used a few 5mm Ivory Pearls.

The roses and the poppy are from Wild Orchid Crafts, but those fantastic Chrysanthemums from Kort and Godt are now available from The Ribbon Girl, they have them in both white and cream.

Pop over to Tilda's Town Challenges and have a look at the great creations my team mates have made, we can't wait to see your creations too.

I hope you have a great weekend, here in the UK we have a bank holiday coming up, and after tonight I'm not at work until 1pm on Wednesday, so I've got a lovely long (and crafty) weekend planned. I'm entering this card into the Summer Flower Challenge at Wild Orchid Challenge. Also check out my Birthday Candy here.

Hugs,

Faerie Marci at La La Land

Hello bloggers,

Today it's Team Fridays turn to bring you the Buttons and Bows inspiration at La La Land.

I've coloured Faerie Marci with my distress markers, and used loads of Glamour Dust in both crystal and gold, I love how this catches the light. I've used Maja Design paper, again, the edges have been distressed with a Tim Holtz Distresser Tool and machine sewn using Top Stitch Thread.

I've used two lengths of 15 mm White Diamond Guipure Lace and some fabby 38mm White Silky Crush Ribbon, this makes the most fantastic bows. I don't really do buttons, but I have a few Lustrous Vintage Buttons, I've looked at them for a while and I think it looks so pretty on the bow.

Most of the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, but there is also a White Magnolia Shabby Chic Dahlia Tinsel.

Pop over to La La Land Crafts Blog and have a look at the amazing inspiration the girls have created.

Challenge #50-Favourite Image

Hi, it's me again. It's time for a new challenge at Lovely Hanglar Only Or Sweet Magnolia and this fortnight we want to see your cards with your favourite image. This was a hard one, I've got so many favourites, so what I did I dug them all out and let the kids choose, Grace picked this one. I've been asked to make a few cards lately and this one seemed to fit the bill for a lady who recently retired from work Mam's 90th Birthday. So here's my card,

I ended up with a Tilda image, I've coloured Tilda With Daisy with distress markers. I'm trying to get organised and I schedule my DT posts as I make them, but I make them totally out of order. Today this has slightly backfired on me, I've managed to use the same Magnolia DP and distress marker colour for her dress as this mornings post. But, I do love this new paper, which I why I've used only this one on this card.

The gorgeous 25mm Pink Velvet Lace and the Ivory Organza Looped Trim are from The Ribbon Girl, as are the pearls and the Topstitch Thread.

I've used a Lili Of The Valley sentiment, but the 'Mam' is from Stamping All Day, Judith asked me to make this as she could find a few cards with 'Mam' on, but none with Mam and 90 on. The flowers are all from Kort & Godt, I love all of their flowers.

Pop over to LHOSW and have a look at the gorgeousness that the DT have created, we hope to see your cards, I'm sure you'll agree the hardest part is choosing which stamp to use, lol. For this challenge we are sponsored by Make It Crafty

Midway Reminder at Totally Tilda

Happy Sunday everyone, hope you're all OK. I'm here with my card for the midway reminder at Totally Tilda, our sponsor this challenge is Bunnyzoe Crafts.

A friend at work has asked me to make a card for her niece, hoping that she would do well in her exams, and she did. She got A's and B's and is off to York University, and she loved her card. I thought Autumn Tilda With Pencils was the ideal image for exam success. I've coloured her with my distress markers and used my glamour dust too. The paper is from Magnolia, and I've distressed all of the edges, even the kraft, with Walnut Stain. I'm entering this into the new challenge at In the Pink.

There's a doohickey tag tucked behind with 5mm Ivory Cream Loopy trim, 16mm Cream Fine Vintage Cluny Lace,Natural Button Twine and a Star Charm. I've also used some gorgeous 60mm Ivory Pleated Scrunched Taffeta which makes the most fantastic bows, some Ivory Pearl Rose Organza and a lovely Silver Butterfly, thanks Mary, all of these are from The Ribbon Girl.

Pop over to Totally Tilda and have a look at the stunning creations the DT have come up with. You've still got almost a week to enter your card, remember to use Tilda and Kraft.

Here's an arty shot.

Yellow, White and Grey at La La Land

Happy Friday everyone, yay it's the weekend tomorrow. Today it's Team Friday's turn to bring you this weeks inspiration of Yellow, White and Grey at La La Land. I have to admit, although I do like yellow it's a colour I tend to avoid when I'm making cards, I don't even know why. Anyhoo, here's my card,

I've used Beach Marci and coloured her with my distress markers, pads and reinkers.

I had to hunt through my paper, and I came across this pad from K&Co, it also has subtle bit's of grey going through it. I've used 38mm Silver Glitter Mesh, silver seam binding and flowers from mt stash.

A close up of Marci, I've coloured the clouds using chalk.

Here's an arty shot, lol.

Hope you all have a great weekend,

Hugs,

Oh So Girlie

Hi everyone, I was on nights last night so I came home and had a few hours kip. The postman came and woke me up at around 1pm, but I didn't mind as he had goodies from Wild Orchid Crafts and Lili of the Valley, so I've spent the afternoon colouring and putting this card together.

I've made this card for the Oh So Girlie challenge at Lili's Little Fairies. I've coloured Pretty Bouquet in with Distress Markers and Reinkers. I've used some of the gorgeous new papers from LOTV which the postie brought be today. They are oh so pretty, somehow I've managed to place my order twice, but I don't mind, lol ;)

The papers are 8 x 8 so the bit I've cut off for the inside is the right size for extra bits on the outside. I've distressed the edges and machine sewn them. The flowers and lace is from WOC, some of it came today, but the rest is from my (quite considerable) stash.

My wonky arty shot of the card, lol.

My hubby has had the day off today and is currently in the kitchen cooking our tea, there's some lovely smells wafting in-I'm famished so I'm hoping he won't be too long.

Hugs,
