Dots

Good morning everyone, I had a lovely day yesterday had a great girlie night last night with a few drinks and lots of gossiping and giggling, and lots of time to do some crafting on the afternoon. I actually managed to get two cards done! So that's why I've had two posts in two days!

As soon as I saw the challenge title of 'Dots' over at Lovely Haenglar Only this little lovely came straight to mind. When I had a rummage through my paper it had to be this paper from Lost and Found from My Minds Eye. I thought I'd carry the dots theme right through and use My Favourite Things Die-namics for the doily and the border. I had lots of time to have a lovely mooch through my stuff and came upon some Whimsey stamps and dies, the template for the die is invaluable, and carrying the theme of dots it had to be this ticket sentiment.

I coloured her yesterday so I know the colours, her skin is R20, E0000, E000, E00, E11, her hair is E57, E55, E53, the dots are BG75, BG72 and BG70, I don't know why but I find these colours really hard to blend which is why I've just taken to using them on small areas as I really like the colour. The rest of her outfit and shoes is C0, C1, C3, C5 and C7. I've cut part of her out and then used a nestie to cut the circle so she fits in the doily. I was browsing the internet for paper to colour on as I normally use, and love super smooth stamping card from Lili of The Valley, but i came across Papertemptress and she explains a few papers I got some of the cryogen white and wow! It's more of white, than white but it has a lovely sparkle to it that is still there once you've coloured and I find it as easy to blend on.

The flowers are all from wild orchid crafts which I've once again covered in glimmer mist, lol.

I love decorating the inside of the card too, I think it makes the card look extra special. I also make envelobox's to fit the card exactly, and use a matching ribbon to fasten them.

Enjoy the rest of the long weekend, I'm working 12 hours again tonight, but on the plus side I get to be off on Tuesday too with the kids.

Friends

I have to start by thanking everyone that left all of the lovely comments on my last post, they really are appreciated.

This is going to have to be a quick post as I'm soon off for a girlie night with a glass or two of wine so the title of my post is rather apt, lol.

I'm entering this into 'Friends' challenge over at Just Magnolia and hAnglar stAnglar.

I coloured her ages ago and I don't know the colours I used.

I've used magnolia papers and a doohickey die. I dug out my Martha Stewart punch for the leaves.

The flowers and seam binding is from WOC, with the flowers being covered in glimmer mist. I've also used a cheery lynn heart doily die.

Sorry for the quick post, but I'm getting picked up at 7.

Enjoy the long weekend,

Explore Tilda

Hello everyone,

A few posts ago I mentioned that we were going away for our anniversary, we went to Venice last weekend and it was brilliant. This was our first time away without kids since we were married (the children came before the marriage), so it was essentially our honeymoon too! If you are thinking of going I would wholeheartedly recommend staying on Lido, Venice is a short water bus ride away and you get to stay away from the hussle and bustle of Venice, and there is a beach.

Well anyway, back to my post. I must start off by singing the praises of the service from Bunny Zoes Crafts, I saw on Facebook on Monday that these new stamps were due to be released so I ordered a few. The release date was then announced as being Friday 20th, and I had them in my little hand and was inking them up be dinnertime on Saturday, superb service-thanks Nikki.

I bought a few of the new Maggies, but had to make a card with this one first. My daughter is almost 4 and taking after me is quite the tomboy. She likes nothing better than to turn rocks over in the garden and look for bugs, quite often bringing them in for me to see. I'm OK with most of her findings, but cannot fathom out how she manages to hold spiders, that is one feeling that really gives me the heebeejeebee's, euck their horrible little legs....

I hope you can see by this pic that I've clear embossed the magnifying glass to try and make it look like glass, and the picket fence, doohickey die has been covered in clear crackle glaze to try and look like old paint. I've used copics to colour her in: Hair; EE50, E53 and E55, Skin; E0000, E000, E00, E11 and R20, Jeans; B91, B93, B95 and B97, Top; E40, E41, E42, E43 and E44 and her ribbons are RV63 and RV66 and I can't remember the colours of the bugs etc. Ive used pion design papers from dies to die for. Ive used some of my new Doohickey dies too, the new swirl and the butterfly and some of the new colour roses from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I'd like to enter this into Just Magnolia and hAnglar stAnglar challenge, a sketch.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend

It's Your Day

I've had a last minute afternoon off today, I was supposed to be packing for our anniversary weekend away, well I've got slightly sidetracked, ooops, lol!! I've missed 3 parcels of goodies off the postman though, if only I'd have been off all day I'd have had more things to play with.

I'm not quite happy with her sleeves, not sure if it was the red or I was just trying too hard. This is Apple Tilda from the Apples and Cherries collection, I've had her for ages and have only just got round to inking her up. I've coloired her with copics and prismas and distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Old Paper ink. As I'm entering her in the Just Magnolia challenge 'Anything goes with the option to add stitches' I've stitched all of the edges, I'm also entering it into Magnolia-licious Highlites a sketch.

I've used one of the gorge English Tea Party Doily Dies, which I've distressed with the old paper ink again. The papers are from Magnolia, and the border dies are Magnolia Doohickeys. The sentimen is from Lili of the valley on a Marianne die, and the roses, cherry blossom and the seam binding are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

That's it for me for now, take care

Favourite Stamp

Hi,

I just got this entered into the challenge, by the skin of my teeth, lol. I had to do a tiny post so I had a blog listing so I could enter.

I've entered this into lovely haenglar only, your favourite stamp. I've tried for ages to get this stamp, I originally saw it on the hAnglar shop site before they could ship worldwide, and I've also seen it on a few
cards and wanted it. I saw it on ebay in March, won the auction and it never arrived, I eventually got this one from ebay about two weeks ago so there was no competition as to which is my favourite, although I love them all.

I've coloured her in copics, but I stamped this and coloured it as soon as I got it and can't remember which ones I've used. I've added some shading using prisma colour pencils.

I've had fun using some of my new purchases. The doily die is the cheery lynn french pastry doily die, and the border 14 from crealies borders both from Dies to Die for. The little tag I found on ebay and the swirl die is a Magnolia Doohickey Die. The flowers and seam binding are all from wild orchid crafts, typical though, I've just had a lovely 'present' from WOC with loads of their new colours and white from my stash is what went the best. The paper is also from dies to die for and is Peacock Lane Flowers from Bo Bunny. The 'love' sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and the purple irresescant card is from my stash.

I've made an 'envelobox' is made with Bazzill card and fits the card perfectly.

That's now it from me, just going to settle down with a cuppa, Harry Potter and my colouring. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, my hubby is away on a Rugby tour so it's just me and the kids :)
