Challenge #42

Happy Sunday,

I hope you're all having a lovely weekend, it's time once again for another challenge at Lovely hAnglar and Sweet Magnolia, yes that's right over at Lovely hAnglar Only we now want to see your Magnolia creations too. This fortnight the prize available is a £10 voucher over at Quixotic Paperie. We want to see your creations were the image is in black, white and grey and everything else is in colour.

Here's my card,

I've coloured this cute sailor girl in with Black Soot Distress ink, carefully cut her out and then went around the cut edge with a black pen, I find this finishes it off nicely and hides any bits that you've not cut quite right.

The papers are from Maja design, again, I can't get enough of these gorgeous papers lately. The flowers are from Wild Orchid craft and the twine is from the ribbon girl. The shell charm was a gift. The corners are from a discontinued quickutz die and the swirl is a doohickey die.

Pop over to Lovely hAnglar and Sweet Magnolia and have a look at the gorgeous creations the rest of the team have made.

Cake Glorious Cake!

Here's my second GDT card for Lili's Little Fairies, I'm half way through my GDT spot here, I've only got two more cards to make.

This week there is a fab sketch to follow, by Jacque, here's my take on the great sketch,

I've coloured Cake Glorious Cake in with distress inks. I love this stamp, comes with the sentiment too, and be honest, who doesn't like cake?? I certainly do, probably one of the reasons I'm round, lol. I've gone overboard with the glamour dust, but to me wings need to sparkle.

Once again I've decorated the inside to co-ordinate with the front, I am going to endeavour to do this more often. The papers are from Maja Design (Thanks Sandra) and I've distressed the edges with Walnut stain. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the gorgeous ruffled ribbon is from the Ribbon Girl. The fab oval die is from Dies to Die For.

Pop over to Lili's Little Fairies and show us your take on the sketch,

Tilda With Floating Hearts

Hi everyone,

It's time for another challenge at Midweek Magnolias, we have an open theme this week and would love to see your creations. Please remember though, you can only combine this challenge with up to four others, making five challenges you enter your creation in in total. It's a shame that some fantastic cards cannot be included in the draw.

Here's my card,

I've coloured Tilda With Floating Hearts with distress inks, and added glamour dust for some sparkle. The papers are from Bildmalarna, and I've distressed the edges with Victorian Velvet.

The flowers and pearls are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I think the lace is from the Ribbon Girl.

Pop over to Midweek Magnolias and see the gorgeous creations the girls have made for your inspiration.

Hugs,

The Great Outdoors

Time for my last challenge at My Mum's Craft Shop Challenges, this week we're sponsored by Pollycraft. I've decided to step down from the DT, it was a hard decision though, I'm also on the DT at Midweek Magnolia's and as they both go live on a Wednesday I don't feel that I can do justice to both challenges. My cards heavily feature my Magnolia Stamps, so I decided to go with Midweek Magnolias. I'll always be grateful to MMCS as they were the first DT I became part of, and I wish all of the girls well.

This week we want to see your cards with the theme of 'The Great Outdoors'.

I've coloured Explore Tilda from the Sweet Rainbow Collection with distress inks. The papers are from Magnolia, I've used Tim Holtz's distress tool to distress the edges and sewn them using Top Stitch Thread from The Ribbon Girl.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, and used Diamond Stickles on them. The lace is from The Ribbon Girl. The border die is a doohickey die.

Pop over to MMCS and have a look at the gorgeous creations my teamies have come up, I am going to miss working with them all.

Tilda In Stitches

Hi, Sunday again, where are these weeks and months going??

It's time for another challenge at Totally Tilda and we want to see Tilda in stitches, we're sponsored this challenge by Bunny Zoe's Crafts.

This is one of the Tilda's from the club kit, as yet I don't know her name. I have a paper pad from Maja design with sea type designs on, and was I spoilt for choice as to which paper to use. Can you see the anchors on there too? The whole pad is just divine. If anyone knows where I can get more of these pads, please, please let me know, I must have more, lol.

I've coloured her in with Distress Inks, I've actually just received my Distress Markers, but as yet have not had time to play with them. I've used one of the doohickey border dies, the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts with the lace and the top stitch thread coming from the Ribbon Girl.

Pop over to Totally Tilda and check out the absolutely stunning work my teamies have created, and also join in our challenge.

I'm also entering this card in the challenge over at Just Magnolia and Hanglar Stanglar.

News

Hi Everyone,

I don't have a post today, well not yet anyway, but I have some great news that I'd like to share with you all. I've been asked to join the team at CLP Challenge Blog, I was thrilled when Chelsea e-mailed me, I love following a good sketch and every month there is always a fantastic sketch here.

My fellow newbies are:
We join the team, who are:
There's still time to enter the current sketch Sketch #46, and it's a beauty,

here's my card that I actually entered into the challenge,

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all of their kind words about my creations, it really does mean a lot. Sandra, aka Craftynan, you weren't nagging, lol. I was brought up to be quite unassuming, in fact one of my Mam's sayings was 'Self praise is no recommendation'. I've been blogging for just over a year, and when I first found card blogland I was blown away by the talent of everyone out there, and it was only in my wildest dreams that I ever dared imagine I'd reach anywhere near the upper echelons of talent. I love making my cards, I especially love colouring, and I am grateful for the escape it has given me (those new to my blog, my story in a nutshell, my dad was admitted to hospital on December 14th last year, both my mam and dad had been a bit poorly for a while, on December 22nd they were both diagnosed with cancer, my mam died on January 3rd and my dad on the day of her funeral on January 13th).
I am so honoured, and humbled, to have been asked to join such great DT's and I've now been GDT at two great challenge blogs, 6 months ago I looked at the DT work and drooled and I am now rubbing shoulders with, as a crafty friend put it 'crafting celebs'. Sandra, I promise I'll (try) to start believing in myself.

I hope you all have a great day,

Hugs,

Becky xx

Diamonds and Pearls

Happy Thursday everyone,

Two weeks ago Lili's Little Fairies were asking for a GDT, I entered my card into the challenge and applied for the GDT spot. They were having trouble picking two (they eventually chose three) so the list wasn't up till later in the day. I kept checking to see who the lucky ladies were, never expecting to be me and I was so shocked and pleased when I saw my name on the list. So I'm one of the GDT for the next 4 weeks, YAYYY!!!

The theme this week is 'Diamonds and Pearls', and here's my card.

I've coloured Positively Pampered in with Distress Inks, and covered her wings in Glamour Dust. I've used glossy accents on the mirror to make it shine. The flowers, pearls, lace and seam binding are all from Wild Orchid Crafts, the Diamond swirl is from The Ribbon Girl.

I've used Pion paper and distressed the edges with walnut stain, I've used one of the new doohickey border dies too. I've decorated the inside of the card to match the front, not something I do often enough as I think it really makes the card special.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of the girls over at Lili's Little Fairies for asking me, it really did make my day.

Two Tilda's

Hi everyone,

Time for another challenge over at Midweek Magnolia's, this week we want to see your creations with two Tilda characters on.

I was looking through my stamps to see which I had that would go together, and saw these two and thought I couldn't not use them. I'd actually forgotten that I had the one sitting down and she was actually waiting in my shopping basket to buy when I bought some more bits.

I've coloured them both in with Distress Inks, I've carefully cut one out and the other I've done chalk clouds, I really like this effect. The papers are from Maja design, I really must get some more of this paper. The flowers and seam binding are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The edges have been sewn using the top stitch thread from The Ribbon Girl, I love this stuff.

Pop over to Midweek Magnolia's and have a look at the creations my teamies have made.

Hugs,

Wizard Of Oz

Hi everyone,

Wednesday again, these weeks keep flying round. This week at My Mum's Craft Shop Challenges we're sponsored by Saturated Canary and we want you to entertain us with your favourite song or movie. I looked through Krista's images and this one popped straight out at me, I spent hours when I was little watching Wizard of Oz, I knew it off by heart. About 5 years ago I saw Wicked in London, and would love to watch it again. In the end it was a close choice between Glinda and Dorothy, but Dorothy won.

I've coloured her with my distress inks, I must admit I originally tried to use my copics, but I struggled to use them-I've been using my inks for so long, lol. I've covered her red ruby slippers in glamour dust to make them shine.

The papers are from Maja road, the lace and flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Pop over to MMCS and see the fabulous creations by teamies have made, and then entertain us.

Sketch

Hi everyone,

I'm sorry, but this is being posted from my phone, while I'm sat freezing round the swings with the kids. I've been internetless for a few days, and I'm lost, lol. I've not been able to pop round any blogs as although I've got an iPhone I don't have much of a signal in my house. I'm so glad I scheduled my dt posts this week or I'd have been stuck.

I saw this sketch over at Simply magnolia yesterday when I was out walking the dog, and had to draw it down. I can't see if my card fits any other challenges.

Here's my card

Luckily my wifi still works so I can still edit my pics and then send them to my phone, what a polava lol.
I think this is one of my all time favourite Tilda's and I've coloured her with distress inks. I've used one of the new doohickey border dies, and then almost covered all of it. The flowers, pearls and seam binding are all from wild orchid crafts.

It's my Dads birthday today, his first away from us. It proving to be such a hard day, I've been to the cemetery and given him a can of beer, it's 3 months today since we lost him-on another Friday 13th and I'm missing him just as much.

Better keep this short, my fingers are like ice. But, I must admit having no Internet is saving me a small fortune :)

Hugs,

'Special' Birthday

Time for another challenge at Midweek Magnolias, and this time we want to see your cards for a 'Special' Birthday.

Here's my card,

I've got round to inking up one of my new Tilda's again, I don't know her name yet, she's been coloured in with Distress Inks. I must admit, this is a close second favourite, I can't wait to see the full collection.

The DP are from Bildmalarna, I've distressed the edges and sewn them using Top Stitch thread from the Ribbon Girl. The lace and seam binding are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the Ribbon Girl, the flowers are from WOC.

I decided to make a card for a thirtieth birthday, the dies are from Whimsey and the tiny tag stickers are from eBay. Pop over to Midweek Magnolias and join us this week.

Hugs,

Celebration

Wednesday again, and time once again for a challenge over at My Mums Craft Shop Challenges and this week we want to see your celebration cards. We're sponsored this challenge by Elisabeth Bell. It was my nephew's christening on Easter Sunday (well it will be as I'm scheduling this post, lol). So as I needed to make a card for this it seemed the perfect opportunity to make it for this challenge.

Here's my card,

I've coloured Baby Edwin in with distress inks, isn't he sooo cute?? The papers are from Maja Design, and I've distressed the edges and sewn them with the Ribbon Girls top stitch thread.

The bunting, cloud and border are all doohickey dies. The stickers I've had for ages and I got them from eBay. The date stamp I recently got from Simon Says Stamp.

Pop over to MMCS and have a look at the great cards my teamies have made, and show us your celebration cards.

Happy Birthday

Hi everyone,

It's time for another challenge at Totally Tilda, for this challenge we're sponsored by Crimson Cloud and we want to see your birthday cards, we want to see the words 'Happy Birthday' on there.

I must admit, I tend to leave my cards sentiment free as this leaves them much more versatile, but as I was about to start assemble this the post man brought me those fab sentiments and dies from Wimsey and they are just perfect.

I've coloured Tilda in with distress inks, adding some glamour dust just to lift her dress a little. The papers are from Pion and Inkado.

The lace and flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, and as I said the sentiment is from Whimsey and so are the corners. The border die is from Whiff of Joy.

Pop over to Totally Tilda and show us your birthday cards, but please remember to put the words 'Happy Birthday' on there.

Hugs,
