Denise and An Introduction To Inktense Pencils

Morning everyone, I am here today with one of the new images from Saturated Canary, Denise. I have recently been introduced to Inktense Pencils, so at the end of this post I am going to give you an overview of what Dena has taught me, and what I have learned colouring the 3 images I have coloured so far.

The papers are from my favourite Maja Design collection, Shall We Have Coffee? The edges have been distressed with a Tim Holtz tool and then some Walnut Stain ink.

I have also used the new Lovely View Die from Little Darlings Rubber Stamps.

Click on the links at the end of the post to go to all of the products that I have used from Live and Love Crafts.

On Saturday gone I went to LOTV, and Dena was there demo'ing the Inktense pencils, when I got home I found that I had the full collection sitting on my shelf. I had a little play on Saturday, and this is now the third image I have coloured, and I love them :)

I have found it better to make myself a colour chart, I have a blank one for you to snag too, but if you would like the PDF version drop me an e-mail and I will send you it, beckyheth @ gmail . com (with no spaces) or click the link in my sidebar.

A little really does go a long way, and your brush needs to be practically dry. Here I have used the paper suggested by Dena, but and water colour paper works OK.

The colour combo's that I have found helpful are:

Skin: Carmine Pink and Saddle brown, mixed together, then Baked Earth, then Sepia Ink.
Hair: Amber, then Oak and then Sepia Ink.

I really don't know much more than this just yet, but this is a great place to start off.

As always, if you have a question, just ask.

Hugs,

Becky xx
