Red, White and Black/Grey

First off hello to my third follower Mel, thanks for following.

I can't believe it's been almost two weeks since my last post! I started to colour this cutie last Sunday, and as I type the glue isn't quite dry, lol! It's not for lack of inspiration, lack of time has been the problem, such a hectic life.

I saw this challenge Red, white, black/grey with the option to use buttons and immediately wanted to colour a Hanglar image in greys, this is a colour scheme I like doing-I just never get to put it on any cards. Although, I showed it to Hubby and he thought it was rather morbid until I explained the challenge.

I've coloured the image in using the cool grey copics, C0, C1, C3, C5, C7, and C9. She's been carefully cut out and place on a nestie cut circle on a die-namics dainty lace doily which has been cut out of the most gorgeous stargem glitter paper. You can't see in the photo's just how gorgeous this paper is.

The black lace is from wildorchidcrafts.

The black pins have had black glitter stuck on it, wish I had german glass glitter, it is on my wish list.

The inside of the card has been decorated to compliment the front. The papers are from my stash, I couldn't believe I had so many black ones to choose frm. Although, I didn't have any suitable flowers so I've made my own roses which have some Martha Stewart leaves punched out of that grogeous glitter paper.

Night shift for me tonight, I hope the people coming in in the morning change their clocks as after 9 years of on-call I've eventually got the little shift, yay!!!

Have a lovely weekend,

Two Challenges

I've just finished this card, I know-yet another Hanglar one, and I'm entering it into 'Use Stitches' at Lovely Hanglar and 'Anything Goes' with the option to add glitter at Just Magnolia and Hanglar, when I'd finished the card there was only a few stickles on the roses, but when I saw the glitter option I had to get my pots out, lol.

Flowers are all from Wild Orchid to which I subtley added stickles. The gold leaves are a Magnolia Doohickey die, and the tag is from Go Kreate and the sentiment is from one of my Hanglar Kits. The thick seam binding, which you can just see is also fom Wild Orchid Crafts, it's so lovely I must buy some more.

I've used copics and prismacolour pencils for this image, I'm really liking the effect this gives.

The papers are K & Co from Dies To Die For and I've distressed the edges, the irridescent gold and brown bazzill are from my stash. I also dug my sewing machine out to stitch all of the edges. I love the effect this gives, really don't know why I don't use it more often.

Now for a relaxing afternoon colouring while hubby takes kids to watch the rugby, in preparation for a lovely 12 hour shift tonight-yippee!

Take care,

Isabelle with Puppy Coco

Hello Everyone,

I have an unexpected day off work today, due to sickness I have to cover the night shift, booo!!! It was my friends birthday last Monday, and I made this card for her. She has a ginger cocker spaniel and I've tried my best to match the colour of coco to him.

This is one of Sarah Kays images, 'Isabelle with Puppy Coco'. This is one of the first stamps I bought and must be one of my favourites. I've coloured the image in copics, but I can't remember which colours as I did it a while ago.

I've used seam binding and flowers from my stash, to which I've added a few stickles to give them some life. I also dug my sewing machine out and went round the edges.

I've used Tim Holtz distress ink to gently colour the edge of a butterfly which I cut out using a Martha Stewart punch. I've them embossed this three times using UTEE, each time gently shaping the butterfly so that the wings stay up.

I've matched the inside of the card to the front, I do find this a rather striking look.

I'm sorry I don't know which paper I used either, I just let the image guide me as to what to use and I rummaged through my stuff and decided on these.

Just time to empty the washer, run the hoover over and do the schoolrun. Day off??? A womans work and all of that I suppose, lol.
