Special Tilda

Hi everyone,

I've still got a few cards to make, but I have so much on I can't see me getting them all done. Here's my latest one.

Isn't she such a cutie? I'm entering this into MDUC where there is a colour combination of red, cream and gold. I'm also entering it into Simply magnolia where the theme there is a Christmas card-easily done, lol.
I've coloured Tilda with distress inks, and all of the edges have been distressed with walnut stain. The roses have been made using a mft die and then glittered. The papers are from pion. Anyway, I'd better dash, I've still got presents to buy :(

Take care,

Becky

Anything But A Christmas Card

Hi,

Just a quick post from me today, I've just made this for a pirate mad little boy and it ties in with this weeks LOTV challenge, anything but a Christmas card.

The paper and dies are from magnolia, and he's been coloured with copics. Better dash, we've got a pirate birthday party to get ready for.
Take care,

New Tilda's

Hi,
I've just had to make a card today. My stamp club arrived yesterday and I was working until 9pm, I was so frustrated. Today I'm on nights and have had a lovely time making this.

I don't know her name yet, but it was a tough decision deciding which one to ink up first, lol. I'm entering it into Just Magnolia and hAnglar stAnglar anything goes with the option of sparkle.

I've coloured her with distress inks and added some glamour dust. There's liquid pearls around the flowers and I've stitched the edges. The flowers, which I've stickled, are from WOC as is the seam binding. The dies are doohickeys, and the paper is from Tim holtz.
Happy Friday everyone, hope you have a great weekend.

Tilda with Candy Cone

Happy Thursday everyone, Friday tomorrow and then it's the weekend, yay.
First of all I want to thank everyone for their kind words both on here and the magnolia world Facebook page it really does mean a lot, thank you.
I was off yesterday with the kids due to the strike and I managed to get a few images coloured in, today they're at school and I don't start until 1 so plenty of time to make a card (or possibly 2).

This is the card I've finished today, and coloured in yesterday. I'm entering it into TOMIC vintage and lace and also into Ribbon Girls jingle all the way to christmas.
I've used pion papers which to me scream vintage, I just don't like having to cut them.

Tilda has been coloured with distress inks, I need more practice with her hair now. The doilie and roses have been cut from some gorgeous iridescent gold card which appears almost like Kraft, but has a lovely sheen-I just wish I knew where I got it from. The edges have all been distressed with vintage photo ink.
Take care,

Becky

Tucked Tilda

I can't believe how many blog posts I'm getting done, although I'm not having to boot my laptop up in just getting away with quickies in my phone. Not ideal I know, but it's better than nothing.

I'm entering this cutie into Simply Magnolia's a sketch, where there is a lovely sketch to follow and a great excuse to get another card done.

Once again I've coloured Tilda in with distress inks. I can't believe I've had these inks since last September and I've just mastered the technique (I think) in the last couple of weeks.
The paper is from magnolia, I've distressed all if the edges with vintage photo. I've used a Martha Stewart punch and marianne snowflake dies. The sentiment is from lotv and the ribbon and brad are from wild orchid craft.
Short and sweet again, I've had the morning off to sort my cards, I've got an afternoon of work and I'm going to see the new twilight film with some of the girlies from work tonight.
Take care,

Another Christmas Card

I'm totally getting in top of my cards, and finding challenges to make them for. I'm entering this card into LOTV 'anything goes'.

Again I have to apologise for my photo, my phone doesn't compare to my camera which I've 'tidied' away while we get some stuff sorted.

This sweetie has been coloured in with copics, with lots of glamour dust and twinkles.
Better get back to my inks now, still got lots of cards to do.

Take care,

Let It Snow

Yay, I came in the top 5 in last weeks MDUC challenge. I'll have to get my laptop booted up so I can proudly display my banner.

The challenge at MDUC this week is let it snow. I'm entering this card in it, there are snowflakes on the paper, I've used doohickey snowflakes and a couple of snowflake charms too.

Tilda has been coloured in with distress inks, with subtle sparkle on the flowers. The edges have been distresses with vintage photo ink. My house is upside down at the mo and my camera has been 'tidied' away at the mo so I'm having to use my phone for photos, and they're not the best.
The ribbon and brads are from wild orchid crafts, the sentiment is from lili of the valley and the charms are from eBay.

Have a great week,

Becky

MDUC A Sketch

Two posts in one day, this doesn't happen often for me. I'm sorry for the quality of my photos but I've had to use my phone.

I'm entering this into MDUC where there is a sketch to follow. This is my take on it. The snowflake dies are from whimsey, the paper is all from my scrap box.

Once again Tilda is coloured with distress inks. I wonder how soon the next stamp club will come through my letterbox, it's the simple things that keep me happy ;-)

That's it for me,
Take care

The weather outside is frightful

I've had a busy morning in the attic making Christmas cards, and the rain has been lashing against the windows.

Here's one of my creations today.

I'm entering this into Simply Magnolia 'Anything Goes'.
The border and tag dies are magnolia doohickeys. The holly and pine cone are Tim holtz dies.
Tilda has been coloured with distress inks, and I'm starting to get quite happy with it now.
That's it for now, short and sweet.
Take care

Sweet Christmas Dreams

Hi everyone,

I've patiently been practicing with my distress inks and I'm getting quite happy with my results. I know I have a long way to go to get to the standard of some of the people out there, but for me I'm quite happy.

I thought I'd have a play round and I've seen some fantastic cards out in blogland that are shaped, so I thought I'd give it a whirl, something which I will be doing again ;). I've had some cheesecloth in for ages and this is the first time I've plucked up the courage to actually use it.
I was so busy the last few weeks it's on;y the last few days I've had chance to ink up my new Christmas Tilda's, I love them all. I tried to only get a few, but when I was looking through them so see which I should use first I decided I needed some more, oops.

I've used go kreate dies to cut out my card and the other shaped papers. The magnolia papers are also from the new Sweet Christmas Dreams range. Ive coloured Tilda in with distress inks, and have used white acrylic paint round the edges to tone the purple down a tad. Ive used a doohickey snowflake and flowers and lace are from WOC. There is also some subtle glamour dust sparkle added to Tilda.

I'm entering my card into Totally Tilda, 'Christmas with no red, green or blue'. Also, I'm entering it into Just Magnolia & hAnglar stAnglar 'Anything goes, with the option of using pearls and lace', well I got the lace on there.

Take care,

Christmas is coming

Hi,

Less than eight weeks now till Christmas, it's certainly creeping round. But, a good thing about Christmas is that it means summers back on its way, yay! I, for one, do not like these cold dark days.
Well onto my card, I'm entering this into Just Magnolia and hAnglar stAnglar 'Christmas is Coming'.

This is one of the images I got in my package from the stamp club. I ordered some, pre-order from bunnyzoescrafts and even though I received them Saturday 15th I've been sooo busy they're still on my desk, in their packets in my craft room-this must change soon!!
I've eventually been brave enough to make a challenge card with Tilda coloured with distress inks-away from my comfort zone of my copics. (Thanks Mel for your advice). I've used glamour dust on her wings and German glass glitter on her wand. The memory box borders have been cut from some gorgeous sparkly card I found in my stash and I have no idea where it's from and I'd love some more. The doo hickey poinsettia's have been covered in glossy accents and then sprinkled with twinkles.
That's it for now, I've got a few more birthday cards to make before I allow myself to ink up my new Tilda's.
Take care,

Becky x

Button It

Hi everyone,

What glorious weather we've had! We had a lovely day yesterday, the kids and I walked our dog round the seafront and then with my hubby we went to a couple of local beer gardens. But, all good things must come to an end, and seeing as though we live on the north east coast-it's ended :(.

As the weather is slightly awful I've had chance to make another card, which I'm entering into a few challenges. The first one is Lili of the Valley where the theme this week is 'Button It'. I'm also entering it into Sweet Stop SketchesSSS128 where there is a lovely sketch to follow. Finally I'm entering it into abc-challenge where anything goes.

The christening image is from Lili Of The Valley and is just perfect for christenings, I've used it loads. The paper is from Raspberry Road and I love them all. I've punched the flowers out using different sized retro flower punches, using the same paper and distressed the edges. The buttons and string from my stash. I can't remember where the sentiment is from, but when I find the name of the site I'll add it on as they have loads of fantastic stamps.

Short and sweet today as I'm almost off to my mam's for Sunday dinner, I am sooo looking forward to it. I've been poorly most of the week, but by the way my tummy is rumbling I've got my appetite back.

Take care, hugs

TOMIC Get Inspired

Hi again,

I'm missing the kids loads, and there's times I'm just wandering waiting until 3, but saying that I'm enjoying having time to myself. I can still get a bit done when they're in but they're soon fighting when I leave the room, so I end up giving up as it's too stressful!

This card is for the TOMIC Get Inspired challenge, where there is also a photo for inspiration.

This is the first time I've coloured this Tilda in, and I'll be inking her up again, soon. I've carried the mistletoe from her hair through using a doohickey mistletoe border die. I thought the green layer I used looked too green, so I've calmed all of the edges down with White acrylic paint.

I've distressed the edges of Tilda with pumice stone ink, and then stamped gold Holly from stempelglede. The sentiment is from lili of the valley and I've made a tag using a sizzix die and jump rings. The White poinsettias are from wild orchid crafts and I've added a few stickles.

It was my daughters first full week at school last week, until 3 (as she's just started, in reception, as she was born after April the first 2 weeks she had to come home after dinner) and she was so proud of herself when she was awarded the star of the week award. Of course we were too. But then yesterday she was home poorly, and has kindly given me her bug-but I think I'm over the worst.

Such an eventful week and it's only Wednesday, lol.

Take care,

Becky x

Charlotte

It's great the kids being back at school, I'm having loads of time to myself. My daughter is now in reception so they're both there until 3-it's great, I only have 1 pick up a day to do now.

My husbands middle daughter Charlotte is 21 in a few weeks and while I was browsing stamps I spotted 'Charlotte' from Kraftin' Kimmie and I couldn't not buy her.

Isn't she gorgeous? Her hair is amazing, and I love her well worn, well loved dolls.

I've coloured her with copics, and the papers are all Tim Holtz. I'm entering the card into Kraftin' Kimmie 'a sketch'.

I'm making great progress on my Christmas cards. I really should see which challenges I can make them for and I can keep in touch with the rest of blogland.

I'm going to have a mooch at challenges, and then get my stamps and pens out.

Take care,

Hugs Becky x

Red, Green and White

I must start off by thanking Mel for the quickutz die I was after. I've used it loads, thanks again hun.

The kids are now back at school, so once again time for mammy, yay! I've still been making cards for people, but they've been rushed when the kids are in bed, or when hubby has been in. Now time for making cards for fun.

I popped into the attic just to put things away, I keep having to have things and then have the fun of trying to find a home for them (and hopefully not forget that I've bought them, lol). While I was up there this card just happened to materialise, and yes there's still a load of bits waiting to find a home.

I've coloured the image in with copics. The papers are from basic grey. I've used magnolia doohickey poinsettia die, and used german glass glitter on the edges. The sentiment and ticket die are from whimsey.

I'm entering this into Lili of the Valley

Time to look through other challenges and see what else I can do for fun.

Thank You

First of all a big thank you to everyone who left a comment on my last post, it's so nice to know that I have been missed.
You cannot believe how much I missed my cards. We went away for a lovely break to the lakes. We stayed at Hawkshead, such a gorgeous place. We've already booked up to go back to the same cottage next year. When we returned I went into the attic, only to discover my son had visited before we went away!!! Briefly, he'd rubbed my stazon on my chair and left the lid off, he'd also scrubbed it on my table along with emptying my white pen all over. My collal glue had been poured over some new stamps (I do know they should have been away), but at least that pulled off. I had a load of stamps that I had listed on eBay which he'd cut chunks out of. He'd also sprayed red spray paint on tv and my husbands pc screen, ceiling and light. This took quite a while to clear up!
I've also had to post a load of eBay things, I had over 100 items listed. I then caught a dreaded summer cold, they don't half knock the stuffing out of me!! I was on nights when the new lili of the valley stamps were released, so I had to buy them all, they came promptly as ever on the Tuesday, I was so poorly I never opened them till the Friday and the first one was inked on the Sunday!!!
I'm away again in 2 weeks, but should have time for a few posts, school holidays permitting, lol.
Anyway, on with my post. It's my youngest's last day at nursery next week, after 5 years and 3 months of nursery fees I can't believe my babies are both school children, even if they are still the babies of the school-my son will be in year 1 and my daughter in reception. Getting back on track, I needed to make a thank you card for the girls at the nursery as my kids have had a great time there, so when I saw this challenge it couldn't have suited me better.

I don't know why, but it's not turned out quite like I had in my head. With the huge sunflower I didn't think roses would have gone, and I'm not too sure about the flowers. But, I'm entering it into Lili of the Valley. I'm posting this with my phone, so I'm going to have to see if it's worked ok, if not I'll have to get the laptop out and amend it.

I've got a favour to ask everyone out there in blogland. I'm after this die

It's a discontinued 2 x 2 quickutz scallop photo corner die, rs-0136. I live in north east and don't have many places to mooch. If anyone happens to have 2 of these I'd love to buy it if possible, or if you know where there's any for sale. I'm checking eBay all of the time, but so far have had no luck :(. Drop me a line at beckyheth@gmail.com with any info, cheers.

Hope you're all having a great weekend, I'm on holiday countdown, 14 days time and we'll have just about landed.

Take care, hugs

Roses

Hi,

I cannot believe I've not posted anything since June, I've just been too busy!! It's my brother and sister-in-laws wedding anniversary soon, and I already had this image in mind. So when I saw that the Lili of the Valley challenge was roses I just had to finish the card early.

I've used loads of my new 'presents' on here. The doily, which I love is Dutch scallop square from dies to die for, and the cute squares are from Go Kreate. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley. The flowers and raffia are from wild orchid crafts.

I've spent the last few days colouring images for Christmas cards, in August-I've never been as organised, ever. It's all thanks to Lili of the Valley for releasing such cute images, I had to have them all!!! The next release is just before I go away for 10 days, so do I buy before I go and have them to come back to, or do I wait until I get home, hhmmm?

I've also tried a different way of doing my photo's, I've actually taken them with my phone and watermarked them, but I've had the font slightly too big, oooppss!

Better keep it short and sweet, two words 'the kids', lol. I love them really, but the summer holidays are too long to keep a 5 and 4 year old entertained.

Hope it's not as long for my next post, hugs

With Love

Hello everyone.

What a couple of weeks I've had! My daughter was 4 last week, with all of the chaos of party and baking, and of course spoiling her rotten, lol! I've also had to sit in several waiting rooms with one child or the other, and me! I've got, hopefully-fingers crossed, one more visit to the dentist about my root canal, hope it's sorted soon.

I've been having a bit of a clear out and have some hAnglar stAnglar and Tilda stamps listed on ebay, click here. This is my personal account so clicking on my other link won't work. I'm also getting rid of some of the kids clothes, but if you scroll down I think I've got over 60 stamps on there-need to make way for new ones, lol!

Anyway, back to my card.

With everything going on I've missed seeing my cards come together. We're away to the Lakes soon and I'll be taking my copics and some images with me too ;) .
I've coloured Tilda in with copics, and it's the first time I've attempted to stamp the edges, even though I practiced on blank paper I was still very hesitant to do it on my coloured Tilda.

I'm entering the card into Magnolia Down Under 'Stitches and Swirls', Just Magnolia and hAnglar stAnglar 'Butterfly Theme' and TOMIC 'Shimmer and Pearls', this card ticks all of the boxes.

There is some Glamour Dust on the hem of Tilda's dress and the roses are covered in Glimmer Mist for the shimmer. I've got 3 pearls on, one on the tag, which incidentally is from Lili Of The Valley, as is the sentiment, and two more on the swirl. The swirl is there along with all of the distressed edges being stitched for Magnolia Down Unders challenge. For Just Magnolia and Hanglar Stanglar's challenge I've used some of the most gorgeous Pion papers which is covered in butterflies, I really wanted to keep this to keep looking at it, but it looks so much better on a card. I've also used one of the gorgeous bronze butterflies from Wild Orchid Crafts, where I also got my roses and seam binding.

That's it from me, and it will be for a while-we're off on our jollies soon :)

Take care

Alter It

Phew, what a week! I started colouring in for this challenge on Sunday and the glue is still drying now, lol.

I've never actually altered anything before, but it's my daughter's 4th birthday next week and she has a small box on her bedside table that she keeps photo's in, this is now full so I thought I'd make her a new one.

I wanted to trim the top with lace, but I only have crocheted lace, so i hunted through my border dies, and I think this does the job.

I've stamped Elf Tilda sitting on a large mushroom by first of all stamping Tilda and then masking her by cutting out a stamped image of her on post it note as the low tack is ideal to keep it in place. Then I stamped the mushroom over her, I've outlined (the best I can) the outline of the mushroom on the backside of the stamp and this way you can visualise it through the clear block and get her to perch where you want her.

'Grace' has been cut out using Tim Holtz Vintage Market die, the other dies are all magnolia doohickeys. I've even used magnolia papers, everything just works so well together. I've toned the edges down a tad by painting white acrylic paint round the edges, so when you cut into the sheet all of the edges look the same. I've also used a punch to punch out the small flowers which I've put a small pearl in the centre of each of them.

I had a go of trying to colour with distress inks, here is my first attempt;

Terrible or what, LOL!! So when I was at work on Saturday night I googled and came across a great step by step guide by Jacque, it is brilliant. I also had some advice off Mel and I saw on a you tube guide saying to wipe the brush on the back of your hand (I'm sorry I can't remember who posted this), so when I got home and before I went to bed I had another go and this is it;

Secretly I'm rather pleased, especially with the one on the far right.

I've got a load of birthday's coming up which of course means lot's of birthday cards so I may or may not be on here for a while, it'll depend if I can make any of the cards to fit any of the challenges, lol!

I'm entering this into MDUC, 'Alter It'.

Hugs,

Tilda With Kite

Hello Everyone and happy Friday, yay!!

It's actually been my weekend (sort of) since 9am this morning, although I have another 12 hour nightshift tomorrow night :(.

Along with a 12 hour nightshift last night I also had a lovely visit to the dentist for some ongoing root canal work, and it's still so sore. I have to go back, again on 30th June-I wish I had it removed right at the beginning, it's not that I dislike the dentist, I don't like needles in the roof of my mouth and also when there's not quite enough anaesthetic in and you can start to feel it.

Well, on with my card.

I'm entering this into Magnolia Down Under Challenges where they want you to use purple, peach and cream, not a colour combination that springs straight to mind but I think it looks quite nice. I'm also entering it into Just Magnolia and Hanglar Stanglar where this week there is a sketch to follow and they want us to do flowers galore, well I think I have that covered, lol.

I've coloured 'Tilda with Kite' in with copics and used some gorgeous Pion paper, I really hate having to cover this up as it is gorgeous, I have to keep telling myself that I've bought it to go on cards and not to keep getting it out to look at it.

The flowers and crochet lace are all from wild orchid crafts. I've used a nestie to cut Tilda out, cutting round the kite so it's all one piece. I couldn't decide what sentiment to use, but when I stood back and looked at the card I thought it looked great without one.

The card is for sale in my eBay shop.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend, hugs

My First Boy Card

Hi Again,

I got a few images coloured yesterday and had time to sit and imagine some cards in my head, so with a day off today I've managed to run off a couple of cards as well as going grocery shopping, having a walk around the sea front and having an impromptu BBQ, lol.

It's my Uncles birthday tomorrow, so here is my first 'boy' card which is for my Uncle Rob, whom I call 'Unc' in e-mails and on facebook.

I'm entering this in lovely haenglar only, where there is a sketch to follow

and this is the sketch. I'm also entering it into Just Magnolia and hAnglar stAnglar challenge where anything goes.

This is my first proper effort at a mans card, and I'm actually quite pleased with it. Although with no sparkly stuff, ribbons or flowers it didn't seem finished, lol. My hAnglar kite flier is coloured in with copics, and the flags and sentiment have all been done using whimsy stamps and dies using the invaluable template for the die.

That's all from me today, I'm off to practice how to colour with distress inks as I really love the effect and colours achieve this way and as yet I'm still trying to master it. So any hints or tips are appreciated, even if it's just a pointer to a blog with a tutorial or a video on you tube, lol.

Hugs

TOMIC Challenge #1

I worked a 12 hour shift yesterday and I took my copics and a few stamped images to help pass the quiet times, I got a few images coloured in. One of which was 'Birthday Tilda', so when I logged on to The Official Magnolia Inspiration Challenge or TOMIC there was only one image I could use for their theme of 'Happy Birthday Pauline'.

I'm entering this card into TOMIC. As I mentioned earlier I've coloured Tilda in copics, trying my best to try and make the candles look like they're illuminating her face from the bottom. The gorgeous papers are from pion, and I've carried the girlie theme through with the glimmer mist pink roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. I've had to hold myself back from using more flowers as I didn't want to cover up the stunning paper. I've also distressed the edges and sewn them.

I've used my magnolia doohickeys and nesties on this card. I've also just got a ribbon punch, so I had to find a way to use this.

I've put a few gems in the corners, and had to make myself stop with the embellishments, but I think less is more with this card.

That's it from me for now, hugs
