Wedding Couple

Hi everyone, today I have another card that I've been asked to make, a work colleague has asked me to make a wedding card, so here it is.

I've followed the sketch over at Paper Take Weekly, I was just looking round this morning, I've never entered this challenge before, but the sketch is lovely, I'm sure I'll be using it again. I've coloured Wedding Couple with my Distress Markers, and used loads of Glamour Dust, Stickles and Liquid Pearls. The sentiment is also from Lili of the Valley. The white silk ribbontop stitch thread and ivory silk pearl brads are all from the Ribbon Girl. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the paper is 6x6 mini's from Magnolia.

I've not got a picture of the inside as there's a computer generated sentiment with peoples names on, but as always it is decorated to match the front.

I'm off now to take my darlings and the doggy out for a walk, there's a carnival due to start on Friday on the local moor, sort of a smaller scale to Newcastle's fair, although we call it 'The Shows', so we're going to have a look to see what is here this year.

Special Delivery

Hi everyone, the boys are home!! As soon as they came home I plonked William in the shower, he's been away since Thursday and I was told he'd not been washed since Friday!!! He's now all sparkly, and in his pj's. My friend asked me to make a baby boy card for her cousins baby, and here it is.

I've coloured Special Delivery from Lili of the Valley with distress markers, and used loads of glamour dust. I've used digi papers from Raspberry Road, and distressed the edges with a Tim Holtz distress tool then machine sewn them using top stitch thread. The white ruffle edge sheer ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl, I picked the nappy pin charm up off ebay.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the swirl die is a Magnolia Doohickey and the 'Baby' die is from Marianne Designs.

I'm entering this card into the:
'baby or birthday challenge at Fashionista Challenge
'anything goes' at Crafts and Me
'all that glitters' at Crafty Catz Weekly
'use dies or punches' at Inky Impressions
'babies' at Crafty Boots

Hope you're all OK,

Last GDT Card for La La Land

Every good thing must come to an end, and here's my last GDT card for La La Land. This week we're showing our monochrome cards. I was just composing, in my head, my goodbye post to the girls there when Rosie messaged me and asked me if I'd like to join Team Friday, well it took me the amount of time to read the message again (just to make sure I'd not misread it) to reply with YES PLEASE!!

Here's my monochrome card,

I've coloured Dress Up Marci with my distress markers. The papers are from Maja Design, there is not one in any collection I don't like. The largest square is Memories, the middle is 1905 and the smallest is 1904. All of the edges have been distressed with Walnut Stain. I've added a bit of sparkle with my glamour dust.

I've used Tulle Pleat Trim, and decorated the inside of the card to match the front.

Hope you all had a good weekend, I've had a great time, there's just been Grace and me, the boys are away camping, and I've not shouted-it's been bliss. But, I have missed the boys though.

Tilda Picks Flowers

Happy Sunday everyone, hope you're all having a great weekend. Grace and I are having a lovely girlie weekend while the boys are away at camp, it's amazing how much tidier the house stays when they're away......... It's time once again for a new challenge at Totally Tilda, we're sponsored this week by Crafty Ribbons and we want to see Tilda enjoying Summer Fun.

Tilda Picks Flowers is the first Tilda image I remember seeing, she is also one of the first I bought and coloured, and I still think she's lovely. I've just been looking through all of my Maggies, I can't believe how many I've actually got, lol.
I've used 6 x 6 Grandma's School Book Forest paper by Pion Design, which I've distressed with Walnut Stain. I've used a Granny Pearl Brooch, and fastened it over Tulle Pleat Trim which I've wrapped around the front of the card twice. I've used two vintage trinket crystal pins and the flowers are from Magnolia and Kort og Godt, the Roses with Glass Pearls and the magnolia vintage orchids are available at Live & Love Crafts.

As always the inside of the card has been decorated to coordinate with the front.

Pop over to Totally Tilda and have a look at the amazing creations from the DT.

Name Your Technique at Tilda's Town

This week at Tilda's Town Challenges we want you to name your technique, I decided to do Masking and I've put together a little tutorial.

First off though, here's my card.

I've masked Tilda Makes A Blueberry Blanket onto Old Swedish Chair and then coloured the image in with Distress Markers. The papers are from Maja Design, I've distressed the edges with a Tim Holtz distress tool, and then machine sewn the edges with top stitch thread. The pearl brads, seam binding and lace are all from The Ribbon Girl.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid, except for the White Magnolia Shabby Chic Tulle Rose which is from Live and Love Crafts.

Here's the masking tutorial,

Stamp your character image onto a post it note making sure you get as much of the image onto the sticky area as possible.

Carefully cut out the image using sharp scissors, keeping as close to the image as possible.

I then place the cut out image onto the stamp that it is going to 'sit' on, or stand in front of so you can get a good idea of what you want to line up where. For example, for this one I wanted the back of her knees to line up with the seat.

I then mark this on the back of the stamp, so when it's mounted on the acrylic block I know where I'm placing it.

Stamp Tilda onto the paper you are going to colour, and then place the post it 'Mask' over your image (you'd be shocked at how many times I have actually forgotten to do this, lol).

And then stamp your accessory image.

Ta da!! Tilda sitting on a chair.

Give it a go, but don't get disheartened if it doesn't line up, like everything practice makes (ahem) perfect.

Marci Ballerina

Another GDT card for La La Land, this week we're showing you round cards, I decided to go for a round easel card.

I've coloured Marci Ballerina with distress markers and limited edition pads. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, and the lace is from The Ribbon Girl. The paper is from K&Co. I've used the XXL dies from Go Kreate.

I'm entering this card into the Round in Circles challenge at Wild Orchid Challenge.

Hope you're all OK, short and sweet-it's the beginning of the summer holidays and I've got kids to entertain :)

Doilies

Hi everyone, sorry I've not been around much this last couple of weeks, since we returned from the Lakes I seem to be in the doldrums. It's the six month anniversary so many times in July for my Mam and Dad, and I think that Friday 13th was so traumatic for me in January the Friday 13th in July has just put me on a downer. I've also had some other bad news too, but I'm going to stop being maudlin, and relish in the thought that tomorrow is the first proper day of the kids' six weeks holidays-I wonder how long it'll be before they're bored, lol!

Less about me, and on to my card. Time for another challenge at LHOSM, and this fortnight we want to see your cards with Doilies on and we're sponsored by Creative Treasures.

I've coloured this special edition Tilda in with Distress Markers, and added a subtle sprinkling of glamour dust. I've used Chantilly Dawn papers by Riddersholm from Live & Love Crafts. The edges have been distressed with Walnut Stain. I've used a discontinued Quickutz corner die, and a Cheery Lynne Doily Die.

The 32mm cream fine vintage style scallop edge flower lace and the Ivory Self Adhesive Pearls are from The Ribbon Girl. I've used flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and the sentiment is from LOTV.

I'm entering this card into the Happy Birthday challenge at Just Magnolia, also into the Shabby Chic challenge at Wild Orchid Challenge, into the Fun With Paper Doilies challenge at MDUC and into Tilda only at Magnolia Stamp Lovers.

Sandra (Crafty Nan), can you please click on my e-mail link, in my sidebar, as I've not received your e-mail with your contact details in, thanks hun.

Elegance At Midweek Magnolias

Wednesday again so it's time for a new challenge at Midweek Magnolias, this week we want to see your 'Elegant' cards.

Tilda with Daisy and Mushrooms has been coloured using Distress Markers, I've used a Spellbinders Floral Oval die again to cut it out and distressed it using Walnut Stain Pad. I've used Riddersholm Design paper from the Chantilly Dawn Collection, available from Live & Love Crafts.

I've shaped the edge of the card using a Tim Holtz on the edge die. There's Vintage Scallop Lace across the middle and a few pieces of Roses Organza.

The flowers are by Kort og Godt and the Roses with Glass Pearls are available here. In the top flower arrangement I've built it up around a small length of Pearl String, the small flower arrangement at the bottom has a stunning Vintage Findings Beaded Centre. The Vintage Wood Butterfly has been painted with acrylic paint and then clear crackle pain with a fine sprinkling of glamour dust.

Pop over to Midweek Magnolias and have a look at the simply stunning creations my teamies have come up with, they will knock your socks off.

Candy Winner

I'm sorry this post is a little late, we got back from our holidays yesterday afternoon, and then went to a Barbecue at the Rugby Club. This morning has been spent, as predicted, washing. I hang some washing out at my mams house, just to make it looked lived in and when I got there there was a baby seagull trapped in the garden, so I've had fun and games getting that out without being attacked.

I want to take this opportunity to say 'Hello' to all of my new followers, and to say thank you for all of the lovely comments you all leave me, I really do enjoy reading each and every one. Grace had a fantastic fifth birthday, and got spoilt rotten, but that's what they're for. We went to Flamingo Land, a theme park in North Yorkshire, for her birthday treat, the weather started off absolutely awful, the rain was torrential, but it brightened up and even though we still went in our wellies we didn't need them.

We had an absolutely amazing week away at the Lakes. We stayed in a cottage a couple of miles away from Beatrix Potters house. It did rain, but not when we planned to go out, it was a perfect week. It was so good, we've actually just booked to go back next year. Here's a few pictures and then the bit you've been waiting for the winner chosen by Random Org.

Grace, the birthday girl, at Flamingo Land.

Mr. Peacock showing off for us at Flamingo Land.

Grace and me in one of the gardens at the cottage on the day we arrived, and the sunglasses weren't just for show, lol.

William and Grace at South Lakes Wild Animal Park with Cranes, Kangaroos, Wallabies, Flamingo's and a hiding Gopher in the background. Can you tell I'm loving my Hipstamatic Camera App, lol.

And the random org winner is.....

Rose Garden Tilda

Hi everyone, time for another challenge at Totally Tilda and this fortnight we want to see your cards with Tilda and a magnolia sentiment. We're sponsored this challenge by the lovely Nikki at Bunny Zoe Crafts. This is a scheduled post as we will have came back from the Lakes yesterday, and if we've had weather like we're having now before we go I can imagine the amount of washing I'm going to have to get through. We're staying in a cottage on a hill so we shouldn't have any flooding.

I've used the absolutely stunning cornflower 6 x 6 sheet from the new Grandma's School Book collection from Pion. I've slightly distressed the edges and as Gesso is on my payday wish list I've had to improvise and use SnowTex on the edges and embellishments. I've coloured Rosegarden Tilda in with distress markers, I picked up the wrong one for the background, I aimed for Tumbled Glass and instead got Broken China, but I like the effect.

I'll start with the top left photo, the stunning Enchanted Butterfly has had White Opal Liquid Pearls added in the gem spaces. I like using liquid pearls as you can use the size you want, I've also dotted them around Tilda. I've also used the Romantic Lock on the tag with some of the Pearl String and Champagne Lace. You can also see the Organza Roses Trim. Moving on to the bottom left picture I've used HortensiaRoses with Glass Pearls,  rolled roses and chrysanthemums from Kort og Godt. I've also had to show a close up of the butterfly, it is stunning.

Pop over to Totally Tilda and have a look at the amazing inspiration there is there from the DT girls. You've got two weeks to enter your card, we can't wait to see them.

Hugs,
Becky

Candy Time

This is a sticky and will remain at the top until the candy has finished, please scroll down for my new posts.

I'm having such a great blogging time recently, I'm part of some amazing design teams and I've recently reached 300 followers and I really appreciate every comment I get. The candy includes Mini Magnolia paper, Lili Of The Valley Stamp, Pink Mini Kit from the Ribbon Girl and a Memory Box Estate Fence die. I will add a few extra bits, and I will post worldwide. All I ask is that you leave me a comment, and if you have a blog you display a picture of my candy with a link back here. You don't have to have a blog to enter, and you only have to follow me if you want to. My little girl is 5 on 22nd June and we're going away for her birthday, and we're going on holiday for a week on 7th July so I'm going to draw the candy when we return on 14th July.
