Thank You

I've been away from blogland for a while, here's the condensed story.

My Mam and Dad had both been a bit poorly for a while, on 12th December I made my Mam go to the doctors, this is when everything started to go downhill.

The morning of 14th December she had a phone call, she had had a chest x-ray and as they'd found something suspicious they'd made an appointment for her to see the lung specialist on 21st December. Meanwhile, that day my Dad looked terrible, I phoned his GP out who sent him straight to hospital. He needed an emergency transfusion and something to reverse his warfarin as his blood was dangerously thin. The next day he had a camera down and they found a growth. The following Wednesday, my Mam saw the lung specialist who arranged for her to have a camera down her nose on the 22nd December. We brought my Mam in for her bronchoscopy, and while we were there we visited my Dad. On this visit we were told my Dad has a quite large Oesophageal Cancer, we went downstairs to collect my Mam only to be told she has Small Cell Lung Cancer. Within an hour my brother and I were given this news. My Mam developed a chest infection and was admitted to hospital on December 28th. She passed away on Tuesday 3rd January, her funeral was on Friday 13th and when we went to visit my Dad afterwards he passed away while holding our hands. His funeral was on 20th January, they are both buried together just a stones throw away from the rugby ground were they met in 1972, at their graveside we could see the clubs flag at half mast for my Dad.

This is why I've been away from card making for the last few weeks, although I have been grateful for the escape that colouring has given me. I've also posted this on the Magnolia facebook page and have been hugely touched by everyones kind words.

I'm now turning my coloured images into Thank You cards, but I also want to say 'Thank You' to everyone that has helped me with their kind words.

I'm entering this into Just Magnolia and hAnglar and stAnglar where there is a sketch to follow.

I might not have been making cards, but I've still been buying goodies, there are loads of my new things on here.

I've coloured Tilda with distress inks, I'm now getting quite happy with my colouring, although I've still got some way to go.

Hope you all have a nice weekend.

Take care
