Doilies

Hi everyone, sorry I've not been around much this last couple of weeks, since we returned from the Lakes I seem to be in the doldrums. It's the six month anniversary so many times in July for my Mam and Dad, and I think that Friday 13th was so traumatic for me in January the Friday 13th in July has just put me on a downer. I've also had some other bad news too, but I'm going to stop being maudlin, and relish in the thought that tomorrow is the first proper day of the kids' six weeks holidays-I wonder how long it'll be before they're bored, lol!

Less about me, and on to my card. Time for another challenge at LHOSM, and this fortnight we want to see your cards with Doilies on and we're sponsored by Creative Treasures.

I've coloured this special edition Tilda in with Distress Markers, and added a subtle sprinkling of glamour dust. I've used Chantilly Dawn papers by Riddersholm from Live & Love Crafts. The edges have been distressed with Walnut Stain. I've used a discontinued Quickutz corner die, and a Cheery Lynne Doily Die.

The 32mm cream fine vintage style scallop edge flower lace and the Ivory Self Adhesive Pearls are from The Ribbon Girl. I've used flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and the sentiment is from LOTV.

I'm entering this card into the Happy Birthday challenge at Just Magnolia, also into the Shabby Chic challenge at Wild Orchid Challenge, into the Fun With Paper Doilies challenge at MDUC and into Tilda only at Magnolia Stamp Lovers.

Sandra (Crafty Nan), can you please click on my e-mail link, in my sidebar, as I've not received your e-mail with your contact details in, thanks hun.

Hugs,

Becky x

  3. Another gorgeous card, Becky. Your image is painted so beautifully and the papers are fab! So sorry to hear that you've been feeling a bit low; it's going to take time after what you've been through, love, so don't beat yourself up about not feeling at your best. The kids will keep you busy over the coming weeks so I hope you get some good weather. Hugs, Tracey x

  4. Hi Becky
WOW what a beautiful card, so pretty, also LOVED your previous cards.
So sorry to hear that you are feeling so down at the moment, BUT it is such early days for you after the trauma of losing your beloved Mam & Dad. You will have times like this so DON"T be hard on yourself, If you don't feel like blogging/posting then don"t, every one understands. You are doing brilliantly, so you must give yourself the time to have your bad days/weeks, this was never going to be something that you would get over in such a short space of time, & the first Anniversary's (after someone has passed) are so hard, & you have it doubly hard after losing both your Mam & Dad.
    Take care
Sending you HUMONGOUS wrap around HUGS

P.S. I am sending you an email with my details on, I did send you a previous one BUT I didn't have my specs on when I sent it, ( plus I was sooooooooo tired as we have 5 of our grankids staying) so I put in the wrong name lol.

  14. As always Bex, you have created another stunning masterpiece! Your colouring with DM's is just fabulous!

Be kind to yourself and don't expect too much from yourself. Six months is not a long time and you probably need to give yourself a little rest. I hope your other bad news has become more bearable. Sending you huge hugs xxx
