Swedish House Crafts First Year Celebrations Blog Hop

Hello everyone, and welcome to my stop on the SHC blog hop to celebrate Suha's first year of business! You should have come here from Nancy's blog HERE, if you're just joining the hop here and you want to hop along properly please go to the SHC blog HERE and hop along.

As you may already know I used to craft in the attic, but my daughter was in a tiny room so we swapped over, but I kept my blog URL. I have a few pics to show you of how I have managed to make this small space work, and tried not to capture too much of the mess, lol. See if you can spy what other crafty things I also do....

First off I will start with where I sit, I do sometimes colour in in the front room or kitchen, but there is always a cup of coffee near by-I have lost count of how many times I have dipped my brush in my cuppa, lol. Fastened to the underneath of the shelf is an old towel rail that I fully utilise, that is where the towel goes that I use with my DI's when I am not using them. That blue box has my DI's in, i have used mini eppendorf tubes to keep them in, in my day job I am a scientist so this is just a bit of two parts of me coming together. There are a few pictures that Grace has coloured in for me, hiding behind my card there is a picture of me and my mam, it would have been her birthday yesterday. A day light lamp is an absolute necessity, and I like to keep what I use near by which is why there ismy cuttlebug and paper cutter at arms reach.

Next is above my desk, I'm sure you will be starting to tell that I like to keep stuff near at hand. My DI's are in a cabinet from a carpenter I have bought quite a bit from, his name is Rod and he sells on eBay, the cabinet directly above that is by him too and that is for the pads. I bought my copic storage off a crafty friend on Facebook. Then there is my frantage, dymo, glue, stickles all just above my head.

Then this is slightly to the left of the last one, my paper and photo area. I butchered this cabinet as I was running out of space, and apart from catching my head on the corner a few days ago (and drawing blood) it has worked really well. I was sick of having to wait for good light to take my photos, so I set up this photo area, and with the help of a step stool I can take pictures whenever I please!

Just below this is where I keep my stamps, I got the cabinets off eBay, I like them so much I even have one in my bathroom!! My sewing machine is also here for when I stitch my papers. The purple pencil case has my Inktense Pencils in.

The door is just to the left of this, and the other side of the door is this. The large frame was supposed to be for posters, but I have glued magnetic sheet on, and the rack above is for nail varnishes, but I have used it for my overflowing distress ink collection.

Then finally the last photo I am sharing with you (the rest of the room is more of a mess than what I have shown you)... This is a white board with the magnetic sheets glued on again, and the punches are on Ikea storage things, with some border dies on magnetic knife racks, also from Ikea. Just in shot is my electric ebosser to use with my XXL dies, and die storage drawers also from Rod.

As we are having a blog hop then of course we have prizes up for grabs... Leave me a comment and I will pick a random commenter to win this, Me and My Snowman Tilda, just in time to make your Christmas cards.

But, the fun doesnt stop there, these are the last letter that you need to enter the giveaway on the SHC blog, HERE.

Thank you for hopping around, I hope that you have enjoyed seeing our crafty areas :)

Hugs,

Becky xx

  2. Morning Becky, I love to look at other people's craft rooms, (I'm nosey haha), and I'm loving yours, you have some great ideas for storage. I wish mine was so organised, I seem to have 'stash' on every surface and end up crafting in a possible 10" x 10" space and the rest of the surfaces are 'littered' with all the components I'm working with hahaha.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

  20. Love the magnetic board for your dies! I've thought about doing that, but so far I just have most of mine in heavy duty acrylic bins. I love the sweet stamp you are offering as the prize for the hop, and I am having fun visiting the blogs and collecting the letters! Congrats to Swedish House Crafts on their first year!

  37. I loved seeing your craft room Becky. I had a really good nosey too (and a little zoom in on some!). I'm very jealous. I just have an old fold-down type bureau desk and a set of drawers on wheels both shoved in the corner of the dining room. Then there's stuff squirrelled away all over the house (wherever I can hide it really, including the wardrobe in both bedrooms and the lounge coffee table drawers. The only room I can't hide stuff in is the bathroom (and that's probably not through lack of trying!) xx
