Distressing At Midweek Magnolias

Hi my lovelies, how's your week going? Mine isn't too good, lots of night shifts, poorly heel leading to a poorly hip and a dicky tummy, but hey ho, everything has to go on. Our theme this week at Midweek Magnolias is 'Distressing', this is right up my street.

I've coloured Winter Tilda with my distress markers, and added subtle sparkle with Glamour Dust. The gorgeous papers are form Pion's Silent Night Collection, the inside is part of the 6 x 6 Snowflakes as are the Tilda Tickets. The other paper are both sides of Snowfall 12 x 12. The bazzill backing card and the tickets have been distressed with Walnut Stain the DP has been distressed with a Tim Holtz Distresser Tool and then machine sewn.

Along the centre I've put Tulle Pleat Trim with Ash Rose Shabby Seam Binding and popped some Organza Roses Trim along the top. The corrugated card is from my stash.

The flowers are White PoppiesCream Rolled RosesCream Chrysanthemums and roses from WOC. The pearls are Cream Melissa Frances Pearls.

Pop over to Midweek Magnolias and have a look at the gorgeous creations my teamies have come up with, it's also the lovely Teresa's debut at MWM.

I'm entering this card into the 'Anything Goes Christmas' at Fashionista.

Hi my lovelies, just a quickie from me today, it's a card that needs to be posted, and It'll be short and sweet.

I've coloured Rosie Posy in using distress markers. The papers are from Maja Design, and have been distressed with walnut stain. I've followed the sketch at Papertake Weekly and I'm also entering the 'Flower Power' challenge at Lili's Little Fairies.

The gorgeous Silk Ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl and the Prima Vintage Trinket 'Tea Thyme' are from Live & Love Crafts.

My arty shot, now back to the settee and an early night for me.

Dutch Saturated Canary

Hi my lovelies,
Yay, I've managed to get this card finished. I printed this image out before I went away, but I had so much DT stuff to finish that it had to wait. I know the Dutch outfit is usually blue and white, however when I was in infants, I was about 6, I painted a tree with blue leaves and I always remember my Mam telling me that as the artist it was up to me to choose what colours I use (I actually tell Grace this too), so when I reached for my pink pen I thought, why not?? As I use distress markers to colour I clear emboss when I've printed the image, and I'm not sure how well you can see this on the pictures, but it gives the eyes a lovely sparkle.

Isn't she the sweetest image (I admit I can be dim, when I was colouring this in I thought to myself, I'm going to do the dickie bird as a canary, it was only when I finished that I realised that the image is by Krista from 'Saturated Canary', d'oh). As I said earlier I've coloured her with my distress markers, and I've coloured the pens in her basket in the colours I've used, I know they're supposed to be copics, but once again 'artist interpretation', lol.

I'm entering this card into the first challenge at the Het Canary Blog, the 'Thank You' challenge at Totally GorgeousBunnyzoes 'Distressing' challenge and the '....B's....' challenge at Saturated Canary are you ready for my alliteration, I've used a Buckle, Bling, Brown Bazzil Bling Backing card, Blue sky, Beady Swirly thing and Blooms ;)

The paper is from Maja Design, the edges have been distressed and then machine sewn using Cream Top Stitch Thread, there's a Diamante Rectangular Buckle on some Rose Pink Silky Crush,  Cream Chrysanths and  Beaded White Swirl Branch are all from The Ribbon Girl, the roses are from WOC. I've eventually used my little cloud dies, I've had them ages and this is the first card that I've remembered to use them on, the sentiment is from LOTV. I've added Stickles to all of the flowers.

I've used chalks for the clouds, so I've used a crafters companion spray to fix it, this gives the image a lovely shine.

Gnomes Couple

Hi my lovelies,

I'm here today with my inspirational card for Live and Love Crafts, this week we're bringing you inspiration using Vilda Stamps. But first I want to tell you something.

I (eventually) drew my candy the other day, the post is here.

Jelly has contacted me, and out of over 200 people who entered world wide not only is she a fellow Hartlepudlian, she lives around a few corners away from me and actually grew up out the back of my Mam and Dad's house and used to play with my brother and a few others that grew up round me. Isn't it a small world, especially as apart from profile pics I don't know what she looks like (my brother is a few years younger than me), I think this is rather spooky, thank you Random Org.

Also, I've got to add I was completely blown away by how many people entered my candy, and the lovely comments I have received on all of my posts. I want to take this chance to say a HUGE HELLO to all of my new followers, I really am humbled. Both hubby and I had lovely birthdays, and our holiday was brilliant, despite two days of rain we still had a lovely time, I'm already looking to get booked up for next year.

On to my card, but I had to share that.

I've coloured Gnomes Couple in with my distress markers, aren't the just sooooo cute?? I've added Crystal Glamour Dust to her heart and Gold Glamour Dust to her bell. For the first time ever I've made a gatefold card, I thought they'd just look so cute on either side. I didn't have big enough sheets of card, so I used two sheets, cut half off each one and then glued the biggest sides together. The papers are Guardian Angels 6x6 from Pion Design, the edges have all been distressed with Walnut Stain. I got my package off Sandy yesterday and there was so much stuff in to play with :)

For the inside I used the top left design off the sheet, it has the perfect space for inside. I wanted the front of the card to look like a full sheet, so I fastened some Storm Clouds Shabby Seam Binding with White Vintage Pearl Brads and tied a bow.

I've used Wood Alphabet Tiles to spell 'JOY', and I've added Snow Tex to them, and other places haphazardly around the card. The pearls are White Melissa Frances Pearls. For my floral display I've used a gorgeous pin which will be available here, a Columbia Blue Hortensia, a White Magnolia Shabby Chic Dahlia Tinsel, some White PoppiesWhite Chrysanthemums and White Rolled Roses.

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend, I'm going to get my markers out, I've hardly coloured for about two weeks as I had so many cards to assemble and schedule for while I was away. I took colouring things for the kids, but not me, I watched Grace so enviously, lol.

I'm entering this into the 'Anything Goes Christmas' challenge at Fashionista.

Choose Your Passion At Tilda's Town

Hi my lovelies, this week at Tilda's Town we're giving you the chance to choose your passion, either CAS or Fussy and Fancy. I thought I'd step out of my comfort zone and do a CAS card, but it wasn't happening. How can I make a card without using the gorgeousness I have in my attic??

I've coloured Christmas Tilda With Cat with my distress markers and added a small sprinkle of Glamour Dust. The paper is from the new Christmas Release from Inkido available from Live & Love Crafts. I've distressed all of the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

The pearl trim and the roses are all from WOC. The adhesive pearls and the Velvet Lace are from The Ribbon Girl.

There's a Melissa Frances Mini Paper Bag and Tag with some Golden Latte Shabby Seam Binding and a Gold Jingle Bell which has been tied on with Button Twine.

Pop over to Tilda's Town and show us your passion.

Hugs,

Candy Winner, At Last

Hi my lovelies,

I'm back from a lovely week away relaxing in the heat. I've currently got my sixth load of washing in, and I've got hand washing on the line too. The first two days rained, I've never seen rain like it. It was like a plug being pulled, the thunder constantly rumbled and the lightening brightened up the whole place, and this was during the day. Apparently the airport was closed for six hours, we were talking to some people who were diverted to Athens for a couple of hours before it was safe the land in Zante. But as my six year old kept reminding us, at least it was warm rain. It didn't spoil the holidays though.

I had a lovely, but weird birthday, thank you to everyone who sent me birthday wishes.

Back to reality with a thud, nights tonight and then practically every other night for a week. There's only 5 of us who do nights on a rota and from Tuesday there's only going to be two of us in the country, I better keep popping my vitamins, lol.

Anyhoo, the bit you're all wanting.............

A little later than advertised, but sooner than expected. You may or may not know, but I managed to delete all of my links this morning. I wanted to cry at the laptop. But, I contacted the help desk, and some lovely anonymous person has fixed it for me, so I then went to Random Org and generated my winner (by my calculations I had 12 extras to add on).

The winner is

Congratulations chick, can you please send your address to beckyheth @ gmail (.) com  (there's no spaces or brackets, I'm sure I read somewhere if you put your full e-mail on a post it may be picked up by spammers, I may be wrong, I don't want to risk it) or click on the 'e-mail me' link in my side bar.

I'll be having more candy before Christmas, so keep an eye out.

Hugs,

Candy Winner

Just a quick post, when I was trying to generate a random winner I have managed to delete the linky, and all of the entrants. I've e-mailed linky and I hope it can be restored. If this can't be I will have to do the draw from the comments, grrrr technology. In the mean time, if you linked and didn't comment please feel free to add your comment here.
I'm sorry for the delay,
Hugs,
Becky x

**I was trying to do it before I took the kids to school, as I have so much to do with coming home from holidays yesterday, more haste less speed, and all of that!! I'm hoping that this is sorted soon, if not you've not already joined you are still welcome to by adding your comment on the Candy Post here. If I've not heard back (or I can't get all 209 of you that linked back) I will do a random comment draw next Thursday. Once again I am so sorry for the delay, I feel rather dim. Thanks for being patient.
Hugs,
Becky xx

It's sorted, just going to do the draw now, by my calculations I have 12 extra's to add to the draw that do not have blogs.

Hugs,

Becky xx

New Release at La La Land

Hi everyone, today we're bringing you Team Fridays Showcase of the New Release from La La Land.
I've actually got two cards to show you today, here's the first,

I've coloured Flying Witch Time Marci with distress markers, the papers are from Magnolia.

I've used Spooky House DieFrightful Fence die and two of the Eerie Bats Die, I've added black glitter which sparkles more in real life.

My second card is Christmas Lantern Marci, which I've also coloured with Distress Markers. The papers are from Maja Design.

The sentiment comes with the stamp, the Christmas Tree is also from the new release and is Christmas Tree Die.

Birthday Candy

Hi my lovelies,

This is sticky and will stay at the top until my candy is over. It's almost Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK, and it's my hubby's birthday on the 28th. And, then the kids go back to school on 4th September. I have to admit these holidays have been a struggle for me, my lovely Mam used to mind my kiddies for me, but regular readers of my blog will know I lost my Mam in January. Luckily I work weird shifts, so at least I'm at home, albeit rather zombie like, but I'm with my babies. It's then my Birthday on September 11th, and I'll be another year older, and then three weeks today we're off to Zante for a week, I cannot wait.

My candy is going to run until we come home, on 20th September. It is open to everyone, worldwide, with a blog or not. All I ask is if you have a blog you follow me and display the picture on your side bar and link up with the linky. If you don't have a blog just leave me a comment, and I'll include you in numerical order from the last number on the Linky.

The candy includes white pearl rose organza, 5 mm self adhesive ivory pearlsbaby dummy charms, other charms from my (considerable) stash, mini bags, Nitwit for LOTV paper pad, Sweet Sage Shabby Seam Binding, two Mini Clothes Pegs (only one pictured), a couple each of Tim Holtz Memo Pins, Trinket Pins and Hinge Clips, plus BNIP Tilda Learning To Dance. Most of these are linked to where I bought them, just click on the links to see the rest of the products available.

GDT at In The Pink

Hi my lovelies, a few weeks ago now I got an e-mail asking me to be the first GDT at In The Pink and of course my answer was yes please. Pink is my guilty pleasure, and I was pleased as punch to have been picked in the top 6 for the first challenge, and this is the icing on the cake. Regular readers will know that I'm coming back off my holidays today, but I amazed even me at how quickly I got these two cards done. I'd like to enter both of these cards into the Emboss Challenge at Simon Says Stamp.

The theme is 'Embossing, Wet or Dry'.

I was asked to make a card for a friends niece's christening, and was asked for pink and girlie, so I took this as the perfect opportunity to make her card. The papers are from Raspberry Road, the edges have all been distressed and machine sewn. I've used a swirl embossing folder and then slightly sanded it, just to bring the background colour through.

The sentiment has been computer generated, the flowers are from WOC and the swirl is from here. The image is from LOTV, this is my most favourite Christening iamge, I've used to loads, I've coloured it with my distress markers and added Glamour Dust.

Here's the second card, as I was making the christening card this idea popped into my head. I've coloured Ice Tilda with my distress markers. I don't have the right size nestie to go inside this floral oval, so I cut the out the full thing and then cut round the dots and then used a snowflake embossing folder. I carefully stuck Tilda out and stuck her on and then added Glamour Dust on the snowflakes so they sparkle.

Sketch At Midweek Magnolias

It's not my week at Midweek Magnolia's, but as this is the first time one of my sketches has been used for a challenge I wanted to play along. I'm entering this into Easy as 1-2-3 at 7 Kids Challenges. I'm also entering the Distressing challenge at Bunnyzoe's Crafts Challenge.

Here's my card, following this sketch.

I kept the sketch quite straight forward (as basically I'm not too good at doing them yet), but there's plenty of scope for interpretation. As you can see I've rotated it 180 degrees.

I've coloured Rosegarden Tilda in with mt Distress Markers. She is definitely one of my favourites, I've loved every card I've made with her. As always I've added some sparkle with Glamour Dust. The papers are from Maja Design, I've distressed the edges and then machine sewn them.

The roses are from WOC, as is the pearl trim. The Beaded White Swirl Branch, the White Silky Crush Ribbon and the Self Adhesive Pearls are from The Ribbon Girl. The Rolled Roses and the Memo Pins are from Live and Love Crafts.

Pop over to Midweek Magnolias, we can't wait to see your take on the sketch.

My candy is here, and I'll be drawing a winner tomorrow.

Defying Gravity At Songbird Challenges

Hi my lovelies, I'm here with my DT card for Songbird Challenges, our theme this fortnight is 'Defying Gravity' and we're sponsored by Di's Digital Downloads. We want to see your things with wings or flying. I'm entering this into Easy as 1-2-3 at 7 Kids Challenge Blog, I've used 1 stamp, 2 dp and pearls, flowers and ribbon, 3 embellishments and also in the bingo challenge at Lili's Little Fairies, I've gone for the 4 corners.

I went down the things with wings route. I've coloured On Tiptoe in with my distress markers and I've added sparkle to her wings with Glamour Dust. The pearls across the bottom and the roses are from WOC. The gorgeous Poppies and the Pearl Spray are from Live & Love Crafts.

The papers are from an older Maja Design collection, and are helping me to cope with my purple phase, lol. I've distressed the edges and machine sewn them using Topstitch Thread, the gorge Ribbon and the Chrysanths are from The Ribbon Girl.

I'm keeping this short as (if Mr. Blogger is working and this post has happened) I'm sunning myself in the med, and just a reminder my Birthday/holiday candy is here.

Pop over to Songbird Challenges and show us your 'Defying Gravity' cards.

Christmas In September

Hi my lovelies, this is a scheduled post (if all goes to plan), I'm having to schedule this as it will have been my birthday yesterday and we go away tomorrow, so I'm fairly sure that I will be running round like a headless chicken, lol.

This challenge at Midweek Magnolias we're bringing you Christmas In September, nice and easy. Who doesn't like making Christmas Cards? I know it's only September, but you can't start too soon, I've already got a few under my belt! I'm entering this card into the distressing challenge at Bunnyzoe's Crafts, I've both distressed and ink distressed.

I've used my Distress Markers to colour up Dancing Tilda With Stars, and used Crystal Glamour Dust on her wings and Gold Glamour Dust on the stars. The papers are from the new SIlent Night from Pion Design, I've used Church 12 x 12  and Church 6 x 6, the edges have been distressed with a Tim Holtz Distress Tool then machine sewn onto some Bazzil Bling which has been distressed using Walnut Stain.

The roses are from WOC, but the White Magnolia Shabby Chic Tinsel Dahlia is from here, the rolled roses are from Kort and Godt, I toned the blue one down a tad using some Gesso. I never throw any bits out, the bits of Jute Fabric that I pulled off an earlier card I've used to fasten two Silver Jingle Bells so that the dangle nicely. The holly leaves have been cut using a Tim Holtz die.

The two Rose Organza Trim roses are some more saved stash, I knew I'd find a place for them, lol. I've used Tilda Lace doohickey. I've tucked a Melissa Frances Mini Paper Bag and Tag behind Tilda and fastened a Snowflake Charm on using Storm Clouds Shabby Seam Binding.

There's also two White Vintage Pearl Brads, and some Cheesecloth.

Pop over to Midweek Magnolias there are some gorgeous card there for you to look at, we can't wait to see what you create.

Hugs

It's The Little Things That Matter Most

Hi my lovelies, today I've got a card to share with you made for Vilda Stamps. When I got my kit through I drooled over the stamps, I wanted to use this one last time, but my kids chose one each, William picked this and Grace picked the last one, after putting them behind my back and then choosing a hand this one was second. I was miffed, but I knew I'd get to colour it in soon anyway.

Doesn't this look like bliss?? The lady in the bath is available from Vilda Stamps and is stamp V12, the sentiment is from there too Ca A5 Theme: English lyrics KIT 4 (V693). I think these two go together perfectly.

I've coloured the image in with my distress markers, adding glamour dust and glossy accents. I've also used Pink Velvet Lace.

The papers are from Magnolia and I've used a Tim Holtz on the edge die to shape the edge. The roses and pearls are from Kort and Godt, so are the Chrysanths which are available here. I've also used some white poppies and a beaded centre.

Hope you're all OK? As you know it's my birthday tomorrow, check out my birthday candy here, so tonight I am going to be treating myself to this. A nice hot bubble bath, cold glass of pink wine, music on and most importantly the bathroom door locked so I can actually have some peace for a while. Don't get me wrong, I love my kids to bits, but....................

Hugs,

Becky xx
